Biography

Michaela Kirby is a health care services researcher with experience in policy research and analysis, impact modeling, and conducting mixed methods research for a diverse range of stakeholders. With a strong focus on research related to Medicare and Medicaid access and quality, high cost prescription drugs, and aging, she excels at translating complex research into actionable insights. Her work is driven by a commitment to advancing equitable access to quality care, through rigorous health services research.

Currently, Michaela serves as Research & Policy Director at Healthsperien where she manages research projects that address clients’ most pressing questions. Working with a broad range of health care entities, Michaela leverages her subject matter expertise and analytic skills to turn complex data into insights that drive policy development and business strategy.

Prior to this, Michaela was a Manager at NORC at the University of Chicago, where she conducted health care policy research and analysis across a diverse range of stakeholders. In this role, Michaela managed a wide variety of research projects, ranging from identifying understudied patient populations in Medicaid claims data to developing interactive models that clients could use to illustrate how proposed policies may impact their business strategy. Before NORC, Michaela worked as a Research Associate at West Health Policy Center supporting research related to successful aging and prescription drug access.

Michaela holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from American University.
