Cameron Muir, MD

Dr. Cameron Muir, a nationally recognized physician, educator, and executive leader in hospice, palliative medicine, and advanced illness care, serves as a Senior Advisor to Healthsperien.

Dr. Muir is the Principal and Founder of CMC, Cameron Muir Consulting, LLC, where he collaborates with healthcare providers and insurers to advance value-based care and payment models. He also serves as Chief Medical and Innovation Officer for the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI), where he oversees the NPHI Innovation Lab, driving initiatives in population health, claims analytics, and practice optimization.

Dr. Muir’s contributions to innovation include leading a Medicare Innovation high-needs ACO REACH program, where his efforts with 12 advanced illness provider organizations resulted in double-digit savings in the program’s first year. He has also guided the establishment of a PACE program and worked with a national kidney care company to develop a network of advanced illness providers for the CKCC Model.

A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Dr. Muir completed his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and fellowships in bioethics and medical oncology at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University, respectively. Board-certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Internal Medicine, he has published over a dozen peer-reviewed articles on innovations in advanced illness care.

Previously, Dr. Muir served as Chief Medical Officer and EVP for Clinical Services at Capital Caring Health, where he led a team delivering over 260,000 hospice and palliative care encounters and oversaw key departments including quality, compliance, and communications.

Dr. Muir has been married for 30 years and has two grown children and a Labrador retriever. He enjoys rowing, running, cycling, sailing, and playing his grandfather’s bagpipes.
