Brian W. Lindberg, Vice President of Health and Aging Policy, is a recognized leader in health care and aging policy, bringing decades of experience as an advocate, educator, and lobbyist in Washington, DC. He is the Executive Director of the Consumer Coalition for Quality Health Care and a trusted public policy advisor to organizations dedicated to aging, health care, and special needs. Brian’s expertise lies in crafting national policy, legislation, and strategic initiatives that enhance systems supporting optimal aging and quality care.

Through his career, Brian has focused on critical areas such as long-term care, caregiving, elder justice, social isolation, community-based services, housing, and health care reform. His collaborative leadership and dedication continue to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of older Americans.

A trailblazer in his field, Brian founded the Consumer Coalition for Quality Health Care in 1993 to drive meaningful health care reform. His work has emphasized consumer protections, robust advocacy programs, and independent quality oversight. He played a vital role in the creation of the National Quality Forum (NQF), serving on its planning committee and board of directors. His legislative accomplishments span key provisions in laws related to the Older Americans Act, elder abuse, caregiving, social isolation, Medicare, and aging research.

Brian’s influence extends to White House Conferences on Aging in 1995, 2005, and 2015, where he collaborated with prominent organizations such as AARP, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the John A. Hartford Foundation. He has also served on advisory panels and boards, including the Institute of Medicine, CMS’s National Medicare Education Program, and Temple University’s Board of Trustees. Currently, he serves on the NQF Patient Experience and Function Standing Committee and the Board of Visitors for Temple University’s College of Public Health.

Brian’s policy career began on Capitol Hill, where he worked for Senator Arlen Specter and later joined the Senate Special Committee on Aging under Chairman John Heinz. He went on to serve the House Select Committee on Aging, ultimately leading the Subcommittee on Housing and Consumer Interests as staff director. His early experiences as a social worker and human services manager uniquely shaped his commitment to advancing legislation that strengthens support systems for older adults and vulnerable populations.
