Biography
Amanda Spott is a policy analyst with several years of experience in federal and state health policy. With a strong focus on Medicare and Medicaid, she excels at legal research, legislative and regulatory tracking, and strategy development, driven by a passion for behavioral health, health care access, and health equity.
Currently, Amanda serves as a Senior Policy Analyst for Healthsperien where she conducts research and analysis to identify emerging policy issues that impact her clients’ work and makes recommendations for improvement. Through this role, she has been instrumental in drafting deliverables including policy papers, reports, and comment letters; strategic planning; and political landscape analysis. Prior to this, Amanda held positions at NASTAD, where she supported health department efforts to navigate federal, state, and local laws and policies, and the George Washington University Department of Health Policy & Management, where she conducted research and analysis on Medicaid coverage and reimbursement, public health workforce issues, health equity and justice, and related topics.
Amanda’s work often intersects with health advocacy, social determinants of health, and strategic business development, and she is dedicated to improving healthcare access and promoting healthy aging across the lifespan. She believes in integrity, accountability, and compassion, and prioritizes collaboration and innovative problem-solving.
Beyond her professional life, Amanda has been involved in volunteer work with Morris Animal Rescue in Philadelphia, PA, and the National Eating Disorders Association.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Tulane University and a joint JD/Master of Public Health from George Washington University, with expertise in health law and policy.
