Senior Health Policy Advisor
Amy Abdnor comes to Healthsperien with extensive policy and operations experience in the Marketplace line of business—she helped Indiana’s largest Medicaid managed care plan become a Qualified Health Plan in 2014 and continues to apply this background to help health plans understand the changing landscape and aide them with implementation of Marketplace policies.
Prior to Healthsperien, Amy was the Assistant Director of Plan Support with the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP). There, she provided operational and policy support to plans participating in the Marketplaces, helped to manage health plan learning collaboratives on substance use disorder, and studied policy topics relevant to all public health programs, such as network adequacy, risk adjustment, and medical loss ratio requirements.
When Amy first moved to D.C., she served as a Research Associate at the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute's Center on Health Insurance Reforms, focusing on state health insurance exchange implementation and its impact on access to affordable, high-quality health care. Prior to that, she worked at MDwise, Inc., where she was the Executive Project Manager and led the company's Marketplace product development and operationalization. Mrs. Abdnor graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a focus on Health Administration.
